What's Happening in Rydal-Meadowbrook: Mid-Summer 2026 Roundup

By the RMCA Board · 3 min read

Summer is in full swing in Rydal-Meadowbrook, and there is no shortage of ways to get out, enjoy the neighborhood, and stay plugged in to what matters. Whether you are looking for a free evening concert, a stroll through a historic garden, or a seat at the table during a key township hearing, this week and next have you covered.

Abington Art Center Summer Concert Series

The Abington Art Center's free outdoor summer concert series is wrapping up its run with a final show on Thursday, July 16. Gates open at 5:30 PM, and music starts at 6:30 PM on the sculpture park lawn at 515 Meetinghouse Road, Jenkintown. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, grab dinner from the on-site food vendors, and enjoy live music under the trees — a Rydal-Meadowbrook summer tradition just minutes from home.

PHS Meadowbrook Farm — July Garden Tour

One of the neighborhood's hidden gems, PHS Meadowbrook Farm, is hosting its monthly garden tour on Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Admission is free, and no reservation is needed. The farm is open seasonally through mid-October and is a wonderful spot to see what the horticultural team has been cultivating. If you have not visited yet this summer, this tour is a perfect excuse.

Art at the Center — Current Exhibition Through July 20

Inside the Abington Art Center galleries, a new exhibition is on view through July 20, 2026. The center is open during regular gallery hours and is worth a visit before or after the Thursday concerts.

Alverthorpe Park Miniature Golf

For families looking for a low-key weekend activity, Alverthorpe Park's miniature golf course is open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM through September 7. It is available to township residents and their guests — a fun, affordable way to spend an afternoon close to home.

  • July 16 at 6:00 PM — Conditional Use Hearing (Abington School District) at the Township Municipal Building, 1176 Old York Road.
  • July 23 at 7:00 PM — Regular Board of Commissioners Meeting at the Municipal Building. Residents are welcome to attend and participate in public comment.
